Spring is not too far away and our chances for additional snowfall are beginning to dwindle across the Burlington, Vermont vicinity. According to climatology we should be hanging around the lower 40′s for this time of the year. Taking a general look at the next 7 days, we do see this type of temperature pattern with temperatures actually looking to be above normal. Even though we received over 2 feet of snow about a week ago, I wouldn’t expect the snow pack to linger around much longer.
As for our snowfall, we received an incredible amount of snowfall for the 2010-2011 season. So far, Burlington, VT has received 125.3″ of snowfall to date! Other areas across Vermont (especially across the Green Mountains) have received well over the 125″ we’ve seen here in Burlington. I will gradually post snowfall totals across Vermont for this year when I have some more time on my hands. For the current totals broken down by months, please see the list below.
For the 2010-2011 Snow Season across Burlington, VT
October 2010 — 0.1″
November 2010 — 0.3″
December 2010 –27.9″
January 2011 — 26.9″
February 2011 –43.1″
March 2011 –27″ (As of March 14th)
If we do receive any additional snowfall in March and April, I will update this post accordingly. I hope everyone who enjoys snow found time to actually enjoy it. We were way above average for annual totals. I personally wish I was able to ski more than twice this season.
